Most primary care in North County runs on a model built for insurance reimbursement, not for you: fifteen-minute slots, three-week waits, a different face each visit. Dr. Brar built A Personal Physician to practice medicine the way it should be: with continuity, access, and a relationship that lasts.
When one of his Encinitas patients needs the hospital, Dr. Brar coordinates directly with specialists at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, Tri-City Medical Center and UC San Diego Health. When they're discharged, he sees them in follow-up himself, not a rotating physician.
For Encinitas families, that continuity is the whole point. You see the same physician every visit, he holds the full picture of your health over years instead of minutes, and he is reachable directly when something comes up rather than routing you to an after-hours line that has never met you.
It is a fit for busy professionals, active retirees, and anyone in North County who is tired of rushed, reactive care and wants a private doctor focused on prevention, longevity, and being genuinely available. The panel is capped at 200 patients, so your time with Dr. Brar is never the thing that gets cut.
Our Encinitas office sits on Santa Fe Drive, steps from Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. Intentional, because for a practice that coordinates closely with specialists and hospital admissions, proximity matters. We also serve Cardiff, Leucadia, Olivenhain, Solana Beach and Del Mar.

Yes. Membership at A Personal Physician is separate from your insurance; the membership covers the access, the time, and the relationship with your physician. Your visits, labs, prescriptions, imaging, and specialist referrals are still billed to your insurance the way they always have been.
We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, Anthem, and United Healthcare. Membership fees are often eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement. We'll help you confirm eligibility before you commit.
We have three monthly memberships. Executive Health ($425/month) covers personalized primary and preventive care. Executive Plus ($950/month) adds biochemical diagnostics so we can stay ahead of problems instead of reacting to them. Elite Home Care ($1,350/month) is our top tier and includes 2 home or ILF visits per year, plus mobile phlebotomy and imaging at no extra cost.
Yes. The $5,000 and $10,000 annual Executive Health Programs include Fit3D PRO scans, Galleri multi-cancer testing, and functional health labs twice a year, along with expedited scheduling and a full executive physical. The $10,000 version delivers as much of this as possible at home.
Executive Health is concierge primary care and preventive screening. Executive Plus adds advanced functional blood work twice a year, Galleri screening once a year, priority scheduling, and direct calls from Dr. Brar to your specialists when needed.
Everything in Executive Plus, with home visits, full coordination between your specialists (every note goes to every provider involved), and personal calls and visits to help you make sense of what each specialist is recommending. It's the right fit if you want care at home or you're moving between hospital, SNF, home health, and home.
Each plan is built around one patient, but we offer a 25% discount for additional family members. Call us to talk through the options. Many of our patients only spend part of the year in San Diego, so we try to be flexible
